Exit Slip L7

Our task for the PBAT is to minimize the surface area of a can. Because the consumers ask the company to waste less material. To do this they keep the volume the same but change the height and radius.

Exit Slip-Comparing Functions

  • The Graph is like a mirror reflection, but y2 narrower than y1.
  • There's no horizontal shift.
  • there's a vertical shift because there's a gap between both graphs.

Exit Slip for Graphing

1. I learned how to graph on google docs.
2. I didn't have any problems it was very easy.

"Progress Update 2"

1. Mathematical Methods
  • How did you "generalize?"I did the same steps i did when i was finding the width, Height, Girth, Lenght & Volume, but I replaced the number with X. for example (84-6x)(X)(X)
  • How did you set up your axes when graphing?I took the function I got & made a scale that would fit the X&Y axis for graphing.
  • How did you organize your data into different tables? I organized it depending on the shipping method & the box design.

2. Mathematical Vocabulary
  • When writing your new post, use proper mathematical vocabulary.
3. Process and Solution
Clearly communicate your findings. What did you discover when you put all your findings together? I found that if the height & the width are equal my function will be maximized.

Questions

1.Why aren't you helping us with our pbats?
2.Why are we "making boxes"?
3.What's the purpose of this project?
4.Are we working on individual papers?
